Pop disappointments

This is a trivial matter, but they have their places in the world.

I just watched Lady Gaga’s new video for her single, “Yoü and I”. 

I’ll start by saying that the use of umlaut in any language in which the diacritic mark is not at home drives me nuts. American musicians, take note.

Lady Gaga’s new album — particularly the music — does not cease to bore me. Nothing original, and and no shade of the very danceable music from the last two albums. It’s maddeningly ho-hum.

The videos for this album are nothing more than a collection of senseless self-worship images meant to spice up the boring music they accompany. Not that that’s uncommon among American music videos. 

But c’mon. She had so much promise.

Dare I say she peaked too early?
