Pub Quiz
Last night I realized that I know very little about the world outside of German studies / academia.
Also, the pub quiz was very different from high school academic team — far less diversity in types of questions. I miss high school trivia competitions.

Naming Stuff
The other night I met a motorcycle named Michelle. When asked what I’d named my car, I froze up.

Procrastination (noun): The act of putting things off for far too long in hopes of not having to do those things, and while doing fun things instead. Also, putting play before work. Usually associated with college, especially graduate students.
Example: She procrastinated on reading 15 articles and could not make it to trivia night at the bar.

Riffing on yesterday
All that thinking of my favorite sound that I did yesterday caused to me to think today about my favorite smell.
This smell is more prevalent in the colder months, especially when it’s really cold out. It’s a smell produced by warmth and being outdoors, but it comes from indoors. Can you guess what it is?

It doesn’t matter the time of day, the season, the year.
It’s best to wake up to — comforting. To notice during the day of a sudden it’s exciting. And while falling asleep, it soothes me.
The sound of rain is my favorite sound.
Perhaps that’s because I grew up in the desert and it’s not an everyday sound, or even a sound I got to hear throughout the year....

An observation
California drivers are batshit-crazy terrifying, but they know where their cars end and others’ begin.
Arizona drivers are batshit crazy and possibly also blindfolded while driving.
(You really notice the difference after 44 hours of highway driving in both states during a two-week period.)
